Dr. Christopher Mallard
Dr. Mallard grew up in Jackson, TN and attended Freed-Hardeman University for his undergraduate training. After FHU, Dr. Mallard attended Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he received his Doctorate degree. While attending Nova, Dr. Mallard was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa, the international optometric honor society. After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Mallard completed his residency through Southern College of Optometry at the Memphis VA Medical Center.
Dr. Mallard is a member of the AOA (American Optometric Association)and TAOP (the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians).
Dr. Mallard and his family moved to Spring Hill in October of 2013 to open his practice. He is married to his beautiful wife, Lauren. They have a son, Graeme, and two daughter, Lily, and Cora. In his spare time, Dr. Mallard enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and watching the Tennessee Volunteers.
Dr. Mallard is accepting new patients from 7 and older.
Dr. Kurt Jeter
Dr. Kurt Jeter has practiced optometry in Middle Tennessee since 1979. He was born in Lufkin, Texas but his family moved to Franklin in 1960. He attended Battle Ground Academy, The University of Tennessee at Martin and received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
He has been married to his wife, Mamie, for 43 years. His two sons are married and have blessed his life with 4 grandchildren. He is a member of Franklin First United Methodist church.
Dr. Jeter practices general optometry and sees patients from ages 6 to 100. He has worked with Mallard Eye Care since 2015 and practices mainly at our Columbia location.
Dr. Emy Thompson
Dr. Thompson is originally from San Antonio, Texas and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree at Trinity University. After completing her undergraduate studies, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to attend the Southern College of Optometry. Prior to graduation, Dr. Thompson was awarded the Ocular Instruments Award for Excellence in the Study of Ocular Disease.
After graduating from optometry school in 2016, Dr. Thompson accepted a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Army. She served as an officer with the 86th Combat Support Hospital, providing eye health care to Soldiers at Fort Campbell and to civilian patients while on humanitarian missions. After completing three years of service at Fort Campbell, Dr. Thompson moved to Spring Hill with her husband and daughter.
Dr. Thompson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Thompson joined Mallard Eye Care in the fall of 2019 and will be seeing patients at all locations. Dr. Thompson will be accepting patients of all ages, including children and babies over the age of 6 months.
